Peace is one of the main concerns in the Bible,
as you read through.
And people have prayed for
peace for centuries.
We're not the first group of people
who ever lived with
the fear of extermination.
And we so often think
that we can secure our positions
by building great strength.
But the Lord constantly tells us
that we have to humble
ourselves before Him.
And I like in the Psalms
what it talks about to Israel.
that says,
hey, what are you going around gathering up,
you know, all of this,
all of this power for?
Because your only hope is with God.
And I think the same is very true of us.
And so often,
even in the struggle for peace,
so often I think one tendency that I have is
I think I will overpower the people
who are in favor of war,
who are in favor of violence.
And I would just, I'll outspend them.
I'll be more popular than they are.
I'll be more appealing
and all this and what I realize
is I cannot convince people
And the truth of the gospel
all I can do is present them
the truth of the gospel and that
truth will itself
convince them of what it is
and one of the great truths in
the gospel is just that
It's better to be humble than to be proud
and the God will exalt the humble
and he will bring down the proud
Are you guys hot?
And as I laid me down one evening,
I thought of Jesus on the hill,
and how for man he was weeping,
when it was him that they were gonna kill.
And I know we would have saved them
if they only had a laugh
But none are stronger than the humble
and few are weaker than the proud
And then my thoughts,
they turned to Dav id
And how he watched
his father's flock
And how the music that he
was playing
Calmed the demons in the
mighty man's heart
And when the prophet
came round a -lookin'
For a king,
he sought young David out
None are stronger than the humble
And few are weak er than the proud
And now I know you know about Moses,
and how he left the Pharaoh's court
When he saw the injustice
done to the people,
the people of the Lord
And though fear drove him to hid ing
The Lord with courage
is trembling hard in doubt
Cause none are stronger
than the humble,
and few are weaker than the proud,
and none are I'm stronger than
the humble
