If you would like to know
why I'm looking so tacky,
because that's the way
I look when I record.
So I wanted to keep it cool
and straight for you, you know.
I didn't want you to think
I went to the studio in an
evening gown. Wrong.
I usually look worse than this.
It's only because we expected you.
That I put on this extravagant
outfit here. Okay.
You know, I think, I believe
that one of the most gratifying
experiences for a soloist
is to have someone that they
admire musically
to write a song specific
ally for them.
And I've had that honor many times.
Well, three times, anyway.
And this is the latest effort
done by a very dear friend of mine
by the name of Mark Franklin.
It's the kind of song
that I like to get my teeth into
and I hope that I think
most of you will enjoy it
because it just turns
you around at the very end.
We hope you'll enjoy it though.
It's called I Just Can't
Wait to See You.
I wonder what surprise
you have
in store for me this time.
What will you come up with
just to keep me on the line?
Will you
You stay just long enough
to know I'm in your spell,
I know too well.
I just can't wait to see you,
my dear
disarming friend.
Your music goes right through me,
a little time to spend.
For days go on as always,
the same old five
and ten.
A pleasant change of scenery
to see you here
again.
I wonder what surprise you'll have
in store for me this time.
What will you come up with
just to keep me on the line?
Will you stay just long enough
to know I'm in your spell?
I know too well.
An d I just can
't wait to see you
As always,
like be fore
And I just can't wait to tell you,
I won't see you anymore.
Anymore
