John Big John
Big John
Big John
Big John
Big Bad John
Every morning in the mine
you would see him arrive
He stood six foot six,
he weighed two forty -five
Cut uprodded the shoulders,
narrowed the hip,
everybody knew he didn't
give no lift to Big John.
Big John! Big John!
Big Bad John.
Nobody seemed to know
where John called home,
he just drifted into town
and stayed all alone.
He didn't say much,
he was kind of quiet and shy
And if you spoke at all,
you'd just say hi to Big John
Hey, John
Somebody said he came
from New Orleans
Where he got in a fight
over a Cajun queen
A crashing blow from a huge right hand
Sent a Louisiana man to
the promised land
Big John
Then came the day at the
bottom of the mine
When a timber cracked
and men started cryin'
Miners were prayin'
and hearts broke fast
And everybody thought
they'd breathed their
The last Sept -John
Through the dust and the smoke
of this man -made hell
Walked a giant of a man
that the miners knew well
Grabbed a saggin' timber
and gave out a groan
An d like a giant oak tree
just stood there alone
It's Big John
Big John
Big John
Big Bad John
With all of his strength
he gave a mighty shove
Then a miner yelled out,
there's a light up above
Twenty men scrambled
from a would -be grave
And now there's only one left down there
to save it's John
With jacks and timbers
they started back down
Then came that rumble
way down in the ground
And smoking gas belched out of that mine
And everybody knew it
was the end of the line
I think it's John
Big John
Big John
Big Bad John
Now they never reopened that worthless pit
They just placed a marble
stand in front of it
These few words are written on that stand
At the bottom of their mind
lies a big, big man
Big John
Big John
There's another part
to the story you see
John found an opening in Tunnel C
Shook off the dust and walked to town
To a bar where all his minor buddies
hung around Big John
He walked in the bar and he locked the door
Everybody turned around
a few guys hit the floor
he said thanks a lot for leaving
me in that mind
you're really nice guys
I'm gonna take my time big John
he beat the shit out of 15 guys
and when he was done
he said I got a surprise
he pulled out the roofs supporting beam
and when the bar collapsed
you could hear the scream
s except John
Big John!
Big Bad John!
Big John!
Big John!
Big John!
Big John!
Damn! I got a tumor in my head
with it! what are you doing?
Hey, can I check your phone?
Tumor! got a tumor!
Ok, listen to this.
Oh, that was a tough one.
Fuck, sounds so simple.
Straighten out that wind thing.
